Flexography clichés in light boxes

Masks is a series of flexographic clichés (a kind of rubber relief) that also appear as props in the film The Human Orchid, in sessions reminiscent of psychological personality tests. The images are inspired by so-called “face rigs,” which are used in 3D programs to animate a character’s face – a kind of control system for the character's expressions. The rigs are based on images of people, a stone lion from the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, a brain scan, the orchid Ophrys insectifera, and nettles.
